Lewis and Thompson dominate the 2021 Foursome

The annual WP Foursomes was held this past Sunday, 5th September 2021 in conjunction with the Westlake Foursomes fixture.

The field was jam packed with 58 pairs, 116 players, ready to take on the beast and brave the weather.

The day kicked off with registration with a coffee station and muffins to warm up the cold hands before the day started at 07h30.

It was chilly out there, but yet the players still proceeded to smile and enjoy the day out on the course. The weather man decided to give us a little wake up call which halted play for about 5min with a big down pour but once it blew over play continued.

It would seem that Riaan Lewis (King David Mowbray) & Dave Thompson (Clovelly Country Club) were playing a different course at the time leading round 1 with a 1 over par 72. This only 1 shot lead over Anton Pieters & WP Botha (Strand), Wesley Du Plessis & Handri Burger (Durbanville) & Geno Belfiore (Milnerton) & Roux Burger (King David Mowbray) all T2 on 73 gross.

After a long chilly day out on the course Riaan Lewis & Dave Thompsons were crowned the 2021 WP & Westlake Foursomes Champions winning both gross trophies as well as the Westlake Foursomes Nett trophy.
