Impression Signatures

Secure digital signatures

Gone are the days when customers had to physically sign reams of paper to make a document or contract official. Digital signatures have replaced hand-signed agreements, providing peace of mind and convenience for companies in every sector and industry.

Easy, secure contactless signing

eSignatures have been officially recognised in Europe since 1999, and qualified electronic signature has had the same status and the same legal effects as its handwritten equivalent since 2016. And yet, companies are still using outdated paper-based processes, resulting in poor customer experience and compliance challenges.

If your business is struggling with compliance and fraud issues, or mistakes and workflow complexity as a result of paper-based processes, Impression’s market-leading solution is for you. Easy to use and highly accessible, Impression provides omni-channel, digital document delivery and signature solutions that make the customer journey effortless and seamless.

Available as a white labelled solution, Impression is strongly API driven and can easily be embedded into your current technology stack to support digital transformation initiatives. A range of different options, including video signing, ensures that secure contactless signing is always easy. Signatures can be linked to full biometric identity verification. Documents can be secured with a password, SMS one time pin (OTP), or USSD one time pin (OTP).

Improved compliance

Compliance can be costly and companies are forced to push the costs onto customers. Without digital transformation, it is nearly impossible to
get end-to-end compliance right. Impression creates secure consent, agreement, and approval processes, ensuring compliance and trust.

Improved compliance

1. Make technical audit trails easily understood through a Chain of Custody Certificate.
2. South African ECT Act compliant.
3. Digital footprints and fingerprints allow for the capture of evidence and proof required to prove compliance.
4. Provide technical proof of a document original with signing evidence, workflow, and signatory interactions

5. POPIA compliant
6. GDPR compliant
7. ISO compliant through WebTrust accreditation
8. European eIDAS compliant

Prevent fraud before it starts

A common misconception regarding esignatures is that it is software that simply helps sign documents using a digital image of your signature. This is much the same as describing a smartphone as a device you use to make calls.

In fact, the esignature process is a highly efficient way to track the path of a document or contract from beginning to end. Because the entire process is managed digitally through Impression’s unique eSignature software, every action that is taken with this document can be traced.

Perhaps because they seem so logical in today’s digital world, some organisations tend to overlook esignatures as a viable way to

Absolute privacy

Impression’s eSignature solution is used by organisations in some of the most sensitive industries in the world.
Impression’s eSignature solution for the banking and telco industries includes:

In-branch biometric signing

In-branch biometric signing

Wacom Pad is used to create a contextually aware biometric signature in retail banking.
This signature cannot be easily copied or forged as the speeds and pressures placed on the pad are tracked when the signature is created.

In-app signing for in-branch and remote customer onboarding

Customers can physically sign on any touch screen enabled device, such as a computer screen, smart phone or tablet. The signature is embedded into the forms.

Network Initiated USSD Signing

Network Initiated USSD Signing

The USSD push notification signature is perfect for call centre interactions. When an interactive message is sent to a mobile phone, the action is taken as a signature method. Mobile phone details and client actions are embedded in the application form. The signatory can be identified through 2FA.

Digital stamping of banking documents

Digital stamping of
banking documents

We have created a solution that allows for bank confirmation letters and other digital documents to be stamped or signed on behalf of the bank, then distributed across various bank-branded communication channels, underpinned by a digital certificate. This offers customers the convenience of accessing bank services over their chosen channel, and the assurance of digitally signed documents that attest to the validity and integrity of the document. If a bank document is tampered with, the fraudulent document will be easily identifiable.

Remote signature of documentation through a branded dashboard

In external operations, this could include application forms, proposals, quotations and onboarding. The signature is created through dynamic documentations.
In internal operations, documentation could include declarations and policies, procurement, internal communications and HR. The signature can be integrated with the organisation’s workflow.

Long-term storage

Long-term
storage

Data cataloguing is simple, with the ability to generate a document within your own infrastructure and process in one system, then move the document and kick off another process with the document call back API. To mitigate any risk, Impression scans the barcode and pulls up the audit trail of the document. The barcode makes it easy to find documents, as well as restrict and control access. The rules of retention of the document are built into the barcode.

Absolute assurance

With paper-based processes being haphazard with incomplete information, organisations should be turning to
Impression’s esignature solutions to ensure documents are secure, private, and trackable.
