Our Group CEO Stephen van Coller will host Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) student, Choene Rammutla, for a day on 2 October 2019 as part of the Odgers Berndtson’s CEOx1Day initiative. The CEOx1Day is a global initiative designed to uncover future leaders and provide MBA students with the opportunity to spend a day shadowing and learning from a CEO.

During his time at with us, Choene will accompany Stephen to various meetings across the business where he will be exposed to the intricacies of what it takes to be a CEO of a listed company. He was selected through a rigorous recruitment process, including online assessments and engagements with the management team at EOH.

Commenting on our participation in this initiative, Stephen said: “I am proud to be involved in this important and necessary project and I am excited to welcome Choene Rammutla to EOH. Our fundamental belief is that while technology makes it possible, it is the people that make things happen. This conviction is deeply entrenched in the company culture with a belief that our competitive advantage lies in the quality of our people and our leadership team. Through this initiative we aim to play a pivotal role in developing our youth to become the leaders of tomorrow.”

MBA student Choene Rammutla, adds, “ Just as Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist once said, “It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting” and so it has always been a dream for me to have the opportunity to spend time with a CEO like Stephen in a time where businesses require ethical and attuned leaders. I am hoping to learn more about Stephen’s leadership attributes, the character of EOH and what makes the two a good match.”

EOH has selected and invited a further three MBA students to spend a day with Stephen in November 2019 as an extension of the programme. EOH plans to continue to enable youth to become future leaders by participating in similar youth and leadership development projects in the future.
